Double Chocolate Medianoche, Aged for 24 months in 5-6 year-old MGP high rye bourbon barrels, this specific lot of Medianoche casks expressed such a rich, complex chocolate character that they begged for a massive infusion of even more real chocolate. So we partnered with one of our favorite chocolate producers in Colorado and conditioned the finished beer on Belizean, Guatemalan and Mexican cacao nibs from Cultura Chocolate in Denver. To accentuate the chocolate character even further, we used just a touch of Congo vanilla beans, with the resulting blend expressing notes of milk chocolate morsels, dark chocolate mousse, brownie batter and cocoa dusted truffles.
