And all together we designated aronia aka chokeberry as our very specific local ingredient. Since you don’t have to travel as far as 100 miles from St. Petersburg to recall an unmistakable astringent taste of the berries sneaked from the neighbor’s garden or your boy’s plays ending with washing away the plum-colored blots from your clothes or your dacha fence.
