The Waen Brewery

Award-winning semi-gypsy brewery, currently contract brewing at Tatton Brewery. Waen Brewery started in 2009 by Sue Hayward and John Martin and quickly outgrew its original site in Penstrowed near Newtown. In 2010-2011 they won Gold and Silver medals in the SIBA Wales & West Competition, and qualified for the National Championships, with 2015 seeing the brewery adding a further six gold medals including both Keg and Small Beer of the Competition to their growing plethora of accolades. Their now internationally-known Blackberry Stout has been on BBC2, featured in two Beer Writer of the Year Winners’ Top 50 Beers in the Publican's Morning Advertiser, and has a page all to itself in Melissa Coles's recent book, ‘Let me Tell You about Beer.’
