Vieras, There are quite a few parallels between our country and Scotland. That is why it is a pity that we are not interested enough in its history and culture, because it is strangely intertwined with ours. This new brew from Malanka champions brewing traditions of this northern country of Foggy Albion. Historically, finding hops in Scotland was quite a trick, so in local beer they emphasized a rich malt base, and as an alternative to hops in the old days heather ("Vieras" in Belarusian) was used - the national symbol of the country. We have more than enough hops, so we sparingly hopped our Scottish ale with Kazbek mountain variety, descending from the rebellious Caucasus, which brought barely noticeable aromas of caramelized citrus. The subtle bitterness of the hops pleasantly balances the generous malty taste of toffee with a light hint of aromatic autumn leaves. Slàinte mhath!
