Słodowe nuty czekolady, karmelu i kawy są tutaj dominujące i pojawiają się również w smaku. Dodatek cukru mlecznego (laktozy) nadaje piwu więcej ciała i słodkości. Natomiast dodatek palonego jęczmienia, oprócz barwy, wprowadza swoją charakterystyczną goryczkę, która wraz z goryczką odchmielową równoważy smak.
